Become a Hospice of VNA Volunteer

“You can change someone’s life… it might just be yours”

For over 40 years Volunteers have been an essential part of the continuum of care provided by VNA. Because we are a not-for-profit, charitable organization, volunteers can be assured their time and talents are being donated to an organization that truly cares and gives back to the community. There are a variety of ways a volunteer can assist patients and families at Hospice of VNA.

These Include:

Hospice Patient Visitor and Respite Care Volunteer
Volunteers provide caregiver relief; deliver supplies; provide emotional support; run errands; and provide socialization to terminally ill patients of all ages. Time commitment is flexible, typically 2-4 hours per week based on schedule determined between the VNA volunteer and assigned patient.

Hospice Clerical Support and Development Volunteer
Volunteers with clerical skills can serve Hospice of VNA by helping in the office with a variety of office support such as preparing mailings, filing, computer input, telephone support, assistance with special events and fundraising campaigns and assistance with special projects and activities. Time commitment is flexible, typically 2-4 hours a month.

Special Project Volunteers
Volunteers assist with ongoing projects throughout the year such as:

Flu Clinics (September thru November)
Nurses Day Luncheon (May)
Thanksgiving Dinner Distribution (November)
Christmas Gift Project (December)
Hospice Memorial Service (October – November)
Sewing and Craft Projects (ongoing) – Make lap blankets for Hospice Patients

Volunteers may also volunteer assistance in personal areas of expertise such as baking, yard work, hairstylist (hair cuts) and music therapy and community awareness. Wherever your talents lie, VNA has a place for you.
