Personal Care is for people who need assistance with daily living activities due to age, disability or illness. Services include personal hygiene, food preparation, light housekeeping and companionship. Some people may qualify to receive these services free of charge through the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).
Personal Care Programs
This program offers the services of a skilled caregiver who may assist with bathing, grooming, dressing and light housekeeping.
- Community Based Alternative (CBA)
CBA is a cost-effective alternative to institutionalization.
- Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS)
This program is designed for individuals who were disabled prior to age 22. CLASS includes attendant care, various therapies, home modifications, and adaptive aids.
Certified nurse aides or trained personal care attendants deliver Personal Care services.
For people who do not qualify to receive free Personal Care services through DADS – VNA offers Private Duty Care.
